2025-10-10: The Board of Directors of Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 136 adopted a tax rate of $0.345 for 2025, which is a 3 ½ cent reduction from last year’s rate.
2024-10-04: The Board of Directors of Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 136 adopted a tax rate of $0.38 for 2024.
2023-09-28: The Board of Directors of Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 136 has adopted a tax rate of $0.38 for 2023, which is a 2 cent reduction from last year’s rate.
2022-10-10: The Board of Directors of Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 136 has adopted a tax rate of $0.40 for the 2022 tax year, which is a 2 cent reduction from last year’s rate.
2021-10-29: The Board of Directors for Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 136 is pleased to announce that its tax rate for the 2021 tax year remains at $0.42, which has been the tax rate since 2016, and is $0.21 lower than the District’s initial tax rate.

2019-09-18: The District has levied its 2019 property taxes. The Board is pleased to announce it was able to keep the rate constant at $0.42 per $100 of assessed valuation. We are delighted to not have to increase taxes this tax year.
2019-08-26: The Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 136 will hold a public hearing on a proposed tax rate for the tax year 2019 on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 11:45 a.m. at the offices of Allen Boone Humphries Robinson LLP located at 3200 Southwest Freeway, Suite 2400, Houston, TX 77027. Your individual taxes may increase or decrease, depending on the change in the taxable value of your property in relation to the change in taxable value on all other property and the tax rate that is adopted.

Board of Directors Elections
The next election for the District will be held on May 2, 2026.
Director candidacy filing requirements and deadlines are as follows:
To run for election to the District’s Board of Directors, a person must file an application for a place on the ballot. The application must be filed with the Secretary of the District’s Board of Directors or his designated agent by mail, fax or in person. An application may be downloaded/printed from the website of the Texas Secretary of State at https://www.sos.state.tx.us/
- Texas Ethics Commission – Forms and Instructions
- First day to file for place on the general election ballot is the 30th day before the last day to file.
- Last day and deadline to file for place on the general election ballot is the 78th day before the date of the election, by 5:00 p.m.
- A person may run for election to the District’s Board of Directors as a write-in candidate and to do so must file a declaration of write-in candidacy. The declaration must be filed with the Secretary of the District’s Board of Directors or his designated agent by mail, fax, email or in person. A declaration form may be downloaded/printed from the website of the Texas Secretary of State at https://www.sos.state.tx.us/
elections/forms/pol-sub/2-55f. pdf. - The last day and deadline to file a declaration of write-in candidacy for the general election is the 74th day before the date of the election, by 5:00 p.m.
